Old McMongo had a farm

Goats, Chickens, Rabbits.

Needed faciilites for each

Goats: Need a central fenced area with small shed for goats. Water trough, and space to get in out of weather and rain. When vegetation needs to be cleared, goat can be staked out individually. Need to start with eight nannies and two billies to get genetic diversification. Goats are good sources of protein, as well as producing milk, and sustainable from whatever grows around us.

Chickens: Need to get a coop system set up that allows the chickens room to roost and move around. Needs to be fenced and enclosed to help keep predators away. Mihel has a good design for these coops. Probably need 20 hens and 2-3 roosters for genetic diversification. Meat, eggs and fertilizer for very little feed and time are the main advantages of chickens

Rabbits: Need individual enclosures for rabbits. Will expand rapidly. Males must be seperated from females prior to birth, or the male will destroy the young. Probably need three males and six females to have more rabbits than we can handle within a year. Then, we start turning them loose in the surrounding woods.

All of these animals are easy to maintain, can live off of scraps, and produce high yields of protien for their consumption. All are herbivores, all have short gestation periods, and all are prodigous reproducers.

We can probably get all of our animal stock, pens and coops, as well as the initial feeding cost for about $1200.
